Families Came Together for Ellicott City and Operation Smile

In October 2016, Ellicott City was still recovering from the devastating summer flood. I wanted to bring families together for something joyful while helping two causes that mattered: the Ellicott City Partnership’s flood recovery efforts and PPA Charities benefiting Operation Smile.

Kristen and Stuart generously welcomed us to their beautiful property for a day of outdoor family portraits. With a pond, a barn, stone and wood buildings, and plenty of room to explore, it gave each family a setting that felt a little different and entirely their own.

Several families joined us on October 22. It was super windy, which made the day even more fun. We worked with the weather, laughed through the gusts, and made portraits that captured each family as they were together that day.

A portion of each family’s session fee was designated for each cause. These families came to create portraits they could enjoy and share, and their participation also helped support our community as it rebuilt and Operation Smile’s work.

Thank you to every family who spent part of the day with us. And thank you to Kristen and Stuart for sharing their beautiful property so generously. I’m grateful we could make these portraits together during a time when showing up for one another meant so much.
